City of Pickens Polling Place Changes

As a cost saving measure, the City of Pickens pools precincts for its municipal elections into one polling place in accordance with SC Code of Laws 7-7-1000.  The following precincts are pooled into one polling place:  121 North Pickens, 122 West Pickens, 124 East Pickens, 125 Glassy Mountain, and 154 Crescent Hill. Traditionally, registered voters of these pooled precincts have voted in the fire station behind City Hall for municipal elections.  Beginning with the November 5, 2019 Municipal Election and all municipal elections going forward, these voters will vote at the City of Pickens Public Works Building which is located at 133 Railroad St, Pickens, SC 29671.  All registered voters who reside inside the city limits will be mailed a letter informing them of the change.

Due to the number of registered voters inside the city limits in the 123 South Pickens Precinct, it cannot be pooled.  Registered voters will instead vote at their normal voting location for Federal, State, and County elections.  Recently, the Board has moved the 123 South Pickens Precinct’s polling place from the Lakeview Baptist Church to the Griffin Ebenezer Baptist Church (450 Garvin St, Pickens, SC 29671).  This is a permanent move and will be effective for all federal, state, county, and municipal elections.  All registered voters in the 123 South Pickens Precinct were mailed new voter registration cards.
