Democratic and Republican Statewide Primary Elections – June 12, 2018

With the Statewide Primary Elections rapidly approaching, I wanted to remind everyone of upcoming deadlines.  Please share this information with family and friends.

Sample Ballots for June 12, 2018 Primary Elections are below:

Democratic Ballot Style 1 This ballot will be used Countywide in all precincts.

Republican Ballot Style 1  This ballot will be used in: Stone Church, University, Morrison, Abel, Calhoun, Clemson, and Issaqueena Precincts.

Republican Ballot Style 2 This ballot will be used in: West Central, North Central, Pike, Lawrence Chapel, Norris (all voters except those in House District 4), Six Mile, Six Mile Mountain, Mountain View (all voters except those in House District 4), and South Central Precincts.

Republican Ballot Style 3 This ballot will be used in: Norris (only voters in House District 4), Praters Creek, and Mountain View (only voters in House District 4) Precincts.

Republican Ballot Style 4 This ballot will be used in: Albert R Lewis (only voters not inside State House District 4) , Flat Rock (only voters not inside State House District 5), Saluda, Crossell, and TriCounty (only voters not inside State House District 5) Precincts.

Republican Ballot Style 5 This ballot will be used in: Albert R Lewis (only voters inside State House District 4), Holly Springs, Pumpkintown, Griffin, North Pickens, West Pickens, South Pickens, East Pickens, Glassy Mountain, Skelton, Rices Creek, West Liberty, East Liberty, Arial Mill, Crossroads, Dacusville, Nine Forks, Crescent Hill, and North Liberty Precincts.

Republican Ballot Style 6 This ballot will be used in: Glassy Mountain (split), Cedar Rock, Flat Rock (only for voters inside House District 5), Zion, Smith Grove, Simpson, Woodside, Brushy Creek, Pickensville, Easley, Forest Acres, Crestview, Sitton, Rock Spring, Georges Creek, McKissick, Vinland, Pendelton, Fruit Mountain, Pope Field, Sheffield, Tri County (only for voters inside House District 5), McAlister, and Lenhardt Precincts.

Voter Registration Deadline:

Citizens who have never been registered to vote before, citizens who moved from county to county, or citizens who moved from another state must register in their new county of residence by this deadline. To register to vote, the citizen must be 18-years of age or older by November 6, 2018. This allows citizens who are currently 17 years old but will be 18-years old on or before November 6, 2018 to register and to vote in the Statewide Primary elections.

  • Sunday, May 13th 2018 at 11:59pm is the deadline to register to vote in Pickens County online ( or, by fax, or by email.
  • Citizens wishing to register to vote in person in our office must do so by 5pm on Friday, May 11, 2018.
  • Applications mailed must be postmarked by Monday, May 14, 2018.

Absentee Voting:

Registered voters who meet eligibility criteria to vote via absentee ballot may do so by mail or in-person prior to election day.

  • We will have absentee voting machines available to vote on in-person in our office beginning Monday, May 14th during our regular office hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Voting absentee in our office is the fastest and easiest way to vote absentee. Voters will be asked to provide one of the following IDs: S.C. Driver’s License, ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles (includes concealed weapons permit), S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo, Federal Military ID (includes Veterans Administration Card), or U.S. Passport. The deadline to vote absentee in-person in our office is 5pm on Monday, June 11, 2018.
  • Registered voters who wish to vote absentee by mail must first request and sign an Application for Absentee Ballot. Absentee applications must be received no later than Friday, June 8th. Voters should return their applications as quickly as possible. All ballots will be mailed via first class mail. Ballots must be returned by 7pm on June 12, 2018.
  • The application can be requested and completed online at The application must be printed, signed, and returned to our office by mail, fax, or email.
  • The application can also be requested by sending an email to [email protected] or calling 864-898-5948. We will need the voters name, mailing address, name of the political party’s primary they wish to vote in, and contact information.
