July 8, 2014 Board Meeting Agenda – Revised

A regular monthly meeting of the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Pickens County (formerly known as the Pickens County Registration & Elections Commission) will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 4:30pm in the Auditorium (County Council Chambers) inside the Pickens County Administration Facility (222 McDaniel Ave Pickens, SC 29671).

The following items are on the agenda:

III. Approval of Minutes

IV. Transition from Registration & Elections Commission to Board of Voter Registration & Elections

a. Board Members’ Oath of Office

b. Election of Officers

c. Reappointment of Director Allen

d. Appointment of committee of Board Members to make recommendations to revise bylaws to be compliant with current state law.

e. Appointment of Director and Staff as Deputy Registrars for purposes of processing voter registration applications.

V. Public Comment Period

This is an opportunity for citizens to come before the Commission with various issues. Citizens who wish to speak during the public comment period do not have to register or signup in advance. Each person is limited to 5-minutes of speaking time. Maximum total public comment time is 20 minutes.

1. Consider the revised draft of the budget “Memorandum of Understanding” agreement received from the Pickens County Council concerning agency funding.

2. Consider drafting a resolution asking the Pickens County Council to reconsider the repealing of ordinances 264, 284, and 380 as they relate to municipal elections.
