NOTICE OF ELECTION

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA                                                                                PICKENS COUNTY

The Democratic and Republican parties will hold primaries on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.  Any necessary runoffs will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.  Any person wishing to vote in the primaries and runoffs must register no later than Sunday, May 12, 2024.  Voter registration forms received by mail will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, May 13, 2024.  

Early voting will be held 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 28, and ending Friday, June 7, (no Saturdays or Sundays) at the following locations:

  • Pickens County Voter Registration & Elections: 222 McDaniel Ave, Pickens, SC, 29671
  • Littlejohn Community Center, 644 Old Greenville Hwy, Clemson, SC, 29631 (overflow parking at Abel Baptist Church)
  • Capt. Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library (Easley): 304 Biltmore Rd, Easley, SC, 29640
  • Holly Springs Center: 120 Holly Springs School Rd, Pickens, SC, 29671
  • Dacusville Community Center: 2671 Earls Bridge Rd, Easley, SC, 29640

Early voting for any necessary runoff elections will be held 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, June 19, and ending on Friday, June 21, at the locations listed above.

Voters will be asked to provide one of the following Photo IDs for early voting and at their polling place:

  • S.C. Driver’s License
  • ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles
  • S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo
  • Federal Military ID
  • U.S. Passport

Voters should remember to bring one of these IDs with them to the polling place.  Voters without Photo ID can get one free of charge from their county voter registration office or the Department of Motor Vehicles.  For more information on Photo ID, visit scVOTES.gov or contact your county board of voter registration and elections at (864) 898-5948.

At 9:00 a.m. the day before the primaries and at 9:00 a.m. the day before any necessary runoffs, the county board of voter registration and elections will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at the Pickens County Administrative Building, 222 McDaniel Ave., B-9, Pickens, SC 29671. At 12:55 p.m.on Thursday, June 13, 2024, the Pickens County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in the primaries.  At 12:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, the Pickens County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in any necessary runoffs.  These hearings will be held in the main conference room at Pickens County Administrative Building, 222 McDaniel Ave., Pickens, SC 29671.

The following precincts and polling places will be open during the primaries and runoffs from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Polling places are subject to change under certain conditions.  Voters can view their sample ballot and check their assigned polling place at https://scVOTES.gov before going to the polls on Election Day.

Notice of Public Testing and Hand-Count Audits for the June 2024 Primaries

Logic and accuracy testing of the election database and equipment for the June 11, 2024 Democratic and Republican Primaries will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Public Testing of the Central Count System will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

Logic and accuracy testing of the election database and equipment for the June 25, 2024 Runoff, if needed, will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024. Public Testing of the Central Count System will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Hand-Count Audits of both the June 11, 2024 Primaries and the June 25, 2024 Primary Runoffs will be conducted beginning at 10 a.m. on the day after each election. More information on Hand-Count Audits may be found here.

Senate Redistricting effective Jan. 01, 2024

Voters residing in the Clemson (106) and West Central (108) precincts have been redistricted to SC Senate District 1 effective Jan. 01, 2024, as a result of 2020 Census data. To view your voting districts, visit https://scvotes.gov/.


Register to vote, check your voter registration, update your voter registration address, find your polling location, and view your sample ballot at https://SCVotes.gov
