This notice is to the citizens residing inside the incorporated municipal boundaries of the South Carolina municipalities of Central, Easley, Liberty, Norris, and Pickens that their Municipal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. A runoff election, if necessary, will be held two weeks later on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. This is a non-partisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.
The following offices and candidates will appear on the ballots on November 5, 2013. Write-in candidate blanks equal to the seats to fill for each office shall also be provided.

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE – OCTOBER 5, 2013 – Every person offering to vote in these elections must be duly registered on the County Books of Registration, as an elector and a resident of the municipality, not less than 30-days prior to the date of election. IF YOU DON’T HAVE A PHOTO ID, YOU NEED TO GET ONE BEFORE VOTING. Free Photo IDs are available at the DMV and at the Pickens County Registration & Elections Commission Office.
IF YOU CAN’T GET A PHOTO ID, BRING YOUR NON-PHOTO VOTER REGISTRATION CARD WITH YOU TO THE POLLS. You will be allowed to vote after signing an affidavit stating you have a reasonable impediment to obtaining photo ID. The reasonable impediment could be a religious objection to being photographed, a disability or illness, your work schedule, lack of transportation or any other obstacle you find reasonable.
IF YOU FORGET TO BRING YOUR ID WITH YOU TO VOTE, you may vote a provisional ballot that will not count unless you show Photo ID to the county election commission prior to certification of the election.
The processing of absentee ballots will begin at 9:00am on election morning, November 5, 2013, in the Office of the Pickens County Registration & Elections Commission inside the Pickens County Administration Facility located at 222 McDaniel Ave, Pickens, SC 29671.
The provisional ballot hearing and canvass for this municipal election will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 9:00am in the Office of the Pickens County Registration & Elections Commission inside the Pickens County Administration Facility located at 222 McDaniel Ave, Pickens, SC 29671.
Registered electors who cannot vote in person may be eligible to vote by absentee ballot. Absentee ballot application requests can be made by going to our website: http://pickenselections.org/
