The Pickens County Registration & Elections Commission has ordered that a Republican runoff election be held for the office of Sheriff on June 26, 2012 between Rick Clark and C David Stone for the Republican nomination. Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm.
Residents of the county that were registered to vote by May 12, 2012 or otherwise eligible may vote in this runoff election, with the following stipulations:
- If the registered voter did not vote in any primary election on June 12, 2012, he/she CAN vote in the Republican Runoff Election for Sheriff.
- If the registered voter voted in the Republican Primary on June 12, 2012, he/she CAN vote in the Republican Runoff Election for Sheriff
- If the registered voter voted in the Democratic Primary on June 12, 2012, he/she CANNOT vote in the Republican Runoff Election for Sheriff.
Voters inside the incorporated city limits of Clemson especially need to be prepared for the upcoming elections June 26, as their polling location experience will be a little different than normal. Clemson will be having the Republican Runoff Election for Sheriff and the Clemson City Council Special Election at the same time and in the same voting locations. Because these are separate elections, we will have separate lines, machines, and voter registration books for each election. This means that a qualified voter wishing to participate in both elections would have to wait in two lines and will be using two different voting machines while they are at their precinct.
