Town of Six Mile Special Election

Six Mile Town Council Member Roy C. Stoddard won the election for Mayor of the Town of Six Mile on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.  Accordingly, he has submitted his irrevocable resignation from his Town Council Member position effective December 6, 2011.  A copy of his resignation can be viewed here.

In accordance with SC Code of Laws 8-1-145 and 7-13-190, a special election shall be held to fill his unexpired term on Town Council as follows:

Candidate Filing Opens at Town Hall
Candidate Filing Fee is $15.00
Friday, December 2, 2011 at Noon
Candidate Filing Closes at Town Hall Monday, December 12, 2011 at Noon
Write-in Candidate Filing Deadline to Require Election
SC Code of Laws 7-13-190 (E) provides that,
for municipal elections, no election shall
be held for an office if the same number of
candidates file as seats to fill and no
person has filed a declaration to be a
write-in candidate with the Town Clerk
within 14-days after the close of the
filing period.
