Filing opens at Noon on March 16th and closes at Noon on March 30th for party primary and convention candidates. Citizens interested in being candidates must file proper forms including Statement of Intention of Candidacy, Statement of Economics Interests Form, and filing fee with their political party. Candidates must also file a Candidate Campaign Disclosure Form with the SC State Ethics Commission.
The Primary Election will be held June 8th with a runoff (if necessary) on June 22nd. A complete 2010 Primary and General Election Calendar is available here.
Candidates for the following offices must file with the State Executive Committee of the political party of the candidate’s choice:
- Lieutenant Governor
- Secretary of State
- State Treasurer
- Attorney General
- Comptroller General
- State Superintendent of Education
- Adjutant General
- Commissioner of Agriculture
- US Senate
- US House of Representatives – Congressional District 3
- Solicitor – 13th Judicial Circuit
Candidates for the following offices file with the executive committee of the county political party of the candidate’s choice in the candidate’s county of residence:
- State House of Representatives – Districts 3, 4, 5, and 26
- County Council Districts 1 & 2
- Probate Judge
