Candidate Filing Notice: Clemson Special Municipal Election

The Pickens County Registration and Elections Commission will be conducting the City of Clemson Special Municipal Election on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 to fill the unexpired term of Council Member Elouise James. This is a non-partisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot. The following offices will be on the ballot for Clemson- 1 City Council Seat.

Registered voters who have lived in and have been a resident of this municipality for a period of not less than 6-months immediately preceding the date of this election may file as a candidate beginning at Noon on Friday, December 4, 2009 until filing closes at Noon on Monday, December 14, 2009. Candidates will file with the City Clerk at the Clemson City Hall (1250 Tiger Blvd. Ste. 1 Clemson, SC 29631) during normal business hours.

At the time of filing, each candidate must complete a Statement of Candidacy Form, Statement of Economic Interest Form, and pay the filing fee. The filing fee is $10.00.

In accordance with SC Code of Laws 7-13-190 (E), no special election shall be held if only one candidate files during the filing period and no person has filed a written declaration to be a write-in candidate with the City Clerk by Noon on Monday, December 28, 2009.
